WELCOME TO MY PLEDGE PAGE!!!!!

Yes it is true---BEV's competing in an OLYMPIC DISTANCE TRIATHLON. Call the Miami Herald, Inform the Sun Sentinel. The news is out for everyone to know.

Today's headlines read:
Beverly Herbozo, a resident of North Miami Beach, has voluntarily chosen to participate in a triathlon.

When Ms. Herbozo was asked why she was competing in a triathlon, she stated, "It has always been a personal goal of mine to compete in a triathlon. although I never thought I would do it this soon, but when I found out about The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training Program, I knew I had to do it."

So what is The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS). The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is the world's largest private organization concerned solely with finding cures for leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkins Disease, and myeloma and to improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Leukemia is the number #1 cause of death in children between the ages of 1-15 and takes the lives of 57,000 people each year.

So now let me give you some information about Team In Training (TNT). TNT is the world's largest endurance sports training program. In exchange for the training and support, I have chosen to raise money toward a cure for leukemia, lymphoma, and other blood-related cancers. Approximately 80% of the money raised are directed toward research, patient services, advocacy, education, and community services.

Surely I was hesitant about competing in a triathlon. I have always been an active person but I hadn't swam in years. A few laps in the pool here and there but a mile swim in a lake or ocean scared me. Let alone doing all three sports back to back. But once I attended the information meeting and heard our honored teammates' battles with cancer, I knew I was up for the challenge and knew in my heart I could do it.

I have two personal goals: 1) to complete an olympic distance triathlon and 2) raise $2400 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

I need your support!! Now that you know where your hard earned dollars are going, I am asking that you please give generously to LLS and help fight blood related cancers.

On the big day, you all will be with me in spirit as I swim 1.5 km, hop on my road bike and bike 40 km, and than grab my water bottle and guzzle H2O as I run 10 km to the finish line!!
